VIII Festival Internacional de M\u00fasica de Plectro<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plectrum Music stirs up Gondomar in an international event that reaches its 8th edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VIII Festival Internacional de M\u00fasica de Plectro de Gondomar<\/strong> It's just around the corner. In the quest for a guarantee of quality in the program, the initiative will include the participation of musicians from countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, and, of course, Portugal. There will be three concerts taking place over a weekend, spread out on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (one on each of these days), from from November 10th to 12th.<\/strong>. The event is the result of a partnership between OPGBAC - Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Cultural de Plectro, based in Rio Tinto, which is the promoting and organizing entity of the festival, and it has the active support of the Gondomar City Council for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a better context and clarification of the word 'Plectrum, ('Plectro' in portuguese)' and to eliminate any doubts, it encompasses the meaning of something like a blade made of ivory, plastic, bone, or turtle shell, which is used to generate vibrations in the strings of certain musical instruments. In popular terms, it is commonly referred to as a \"plectrum\" in some cases.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the program, the Duo Lyra<\/strong> composed of Manon Opavska (harp) & Tony Coullet (mandolin), the performers from Belgium and France will perform at Casa Branca de Gramido<\/a>on November 10th, Friday, at 9:30 PM.<\/strong> They promise to delve into the works of authors such as Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Astor Piazzolla, among others, and some original compositions by the duo who will be on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hailing from the German lands, Annika Hinsche (mandolin) and Fabian Hinsche (guitar), commonly known as the Mare Duo<\/strong>, will delight the audience with a repertoire, a musical mosaic of exquisite quality, in a program that they deliberately choose not to reveal entirely. The element of surprise will be the attraction for the concert on Saturday, November 11th, which will take place by the Douro River, at the iconic Casa Branca de Gramido<\/a>, \u00e0s 18h00<\/strong>(Link to the Mare Duo website for more information and photos: https:\/\/www.mareduo.com\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see, even gender parity is in compliance with the current times within the program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To culminate the programmatic menu, the highlight of the eighth edition of the International Plectrum Music Festival of Gondomar, which will take place in Audit\u00f3rio Municipal de Gondomar<\/a>Audit\u00f3rio Municipal de Gondomar, on November 12th, Sunday, at 6:00 PM: the premiere of a new piece dedicated to Gondomar, performed by the Orquestra Portuguesa de Guitarras e Bandolins, which, for this purpose, will be conducted by the renowned Spanish conductor Pedro Chamorro.<\/strong> (https:\/\/www.pedrochamorro.com\/wp\/<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As previously mentioned, it is a \"composition,\" referred to as \u201cTerra d\u2019Ouro\u201d- quase uma sinfonia\u201d<\/strong> and whose authorship belongs to the composer Sofia Sousa Rocha<\/strong>. So it can be said that the piece has a symphonic character, or it seeks to recreate the typical majesty of this genre in a musical form. The composition is the result of a commission by OPGBAC. \"Terra d'Ouro\" is also, from another perspective or perhaps the same, at its core, a motto that naturally refers to the quantity and quality of the goldsmiths (and the 'work' they produce) who work and live in this city adjacent to Porto. It's like a kind of standard-bearer for the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
